Crime Log June 27 to July 10, 2023

Residential Breaking & Entering

23036868: On 7/1/23 at approximately 10:18 PM, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Hinckley St for report of a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers observed the front door slightly ajar and deemed the house safe and empty. Shortly after, the residents arrived home and searched through their belongings. They reported that multiple pieces of jewelry were stolen.

Attempted Breaking & Entering

23037827: On 7/6/23 at approximately 6:43 PM, Somerville Police responded to a construction site on Aldersey St for an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated he observed two male parties trying to cut through a door. He confronted them and they fled the area.

Assault

23037156: On 7/3/23 at approximately 2:01 PM, Somerville Police responded to a hotel in Assembly Row for a past assault. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female employee who stated she was assaulted by a guest of the hotel after she informed him that he couldn’t smoke on the premises.

Residential Breaking & Entering

23037283: On 7/4/23 at approximately 4:19 AM, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Dane St for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated she was sleeping in her bed and awoke to a male party standing in her room. She yelled at the male and he fled out of the house.

Assault

23038069: On 7/7/23 at approximately 10:16 PM, Somerville Police responded to Bond St & Broadway for report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he was going for a run and was approached by two male parties who began to lunge at him. One of the males had a knife and sliced the victim in his stomach causing minor non-life threatening injuries. He also attempted to steal the victim’s phone. The victim was able to flee the scene.

Robbery

23038229: On 7/8/23 at approximately 7:28 PM, Somerville Police responded to a business on Broadway for report of a past larceny. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the store owner who stated two male parties, one of whom was wearing a face covering entered the store and grabbed a bottle of tequila. When the owner confronted the male about the face covering, the male threatened to fight him and stole the liquor. 

Residential Breaking & Entering

23038293: On 7/9/23 at approximately 8:17 AM, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Line St for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated she was out of the house on 7/8/23 and when she returned home, noticed that cash and other belongings were missing from her room.

Residential Breaking & Entering

23037943: On 7/7/23 at approximately 10:26 AM, Somerville Police responded to a residence on Woodbine St for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated several tools were stolen from his job site.

Arrest

23038356: On 7/9/23 at approximately 3:29 PM, Somerville Police responded to Assembly Row for a report of shoplifters that threatened an employee with a knife. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated a group of four females entered the store and began shoplifting various items. When she confronted them, one of the females brandished a knife and threatened to stab her. Officers located the group of females and recovered a knife from one of them. She was then placed under arrest. Shortly after, another female in the group began attacking officers and she was placed under arrest as well.
