On Friday, December 27, 2024, I, Officer Jorge Morel, was working patrol during my assigned 4 PM to 12 AM shift in the East Somerville District in full uniform. At approximately 7:17 PM, Officers Keighla McAloney (E-4), Pricillia Ribeiro (E-2), and Cassandra Camper (E-3) responded to 779 McGrath Hwy (Super Stop & Shop) for a report of a white male shoplifting wearing a black jacket, gray pants. The employee stopped the suspect and made threats toward them. I responded at a later time.

I learned through XXXX (Store Manager), the reporting party, that a female and a male were inside the store concealing merchandise. The male was later identified as Christopher Michael Macinnes, and the female was identified as Kristyn Anne Mclean. Both individuals are familiar with the Somerville Police Department due to prior interactions and incidents. Ms. XXXX stated that she was on the second floor of the front of the store, which overlooks the aisle. She observed Mr. Macinnes and Ms. Mclean enter the store and spend almost an hour inside. During that time, she observed Mr. Macinnes grab and conceal items in his jacket. She also observed Mclean grab a Stop & Shop reusable bag and fill it with various items. Ms. XXXX asked XXXX, a store employee, to watch one of the store exits while Ms. XXXX monitored the other exit. At that point, Mr. Macinnes exited the store past all points of purchase with the items inside his jacket.

Ms. Mclean was standing at the other exit, attempting to leave, when Ms. XXXX approached. Ms. Mclean then tried to flee out of the store, and Ms. XXXX followed her through the exit past all points of purchase and grabbed hold of the reusable bag that contained stolen items. Ms. XXXX and Ms. Mclean began to struggle for the bag, pulling on it. Ms. XXXX continued saying that Mr. Macinnes sprinted towards them from Blakely Av and shoved her with full force. Ms. Mclean lost her grip on the bag, and Ms. XXXX took control of it and then proceeded to enter the store and dial 911. Ms. XXXX continued walking away from the exit, and Mr. Macinnes followed her, yelling profanities and pushing his chest out. Ms. XXXX continued saying that Mr. Macinnes reached for the bag that she had in her position and tried to pull it from her but he was unable to. Mr. XXXX then attempted to intervene when he observed Mr. Macinnes closing his distance from Ms. XXXX. Mr. XXXX told me that Mr. Macinnes looked at him while taking a fighting stance and said, "I will fuck you up," while puffing his chest out and clinching his fist. Ms. XXXX told Mr. Macinnes that if he had a receipt for the items, he could have them and that she had already contacted the police. Mr. Macinnes did not provide any receipts and fled the store.

Officer McAloney obtained a standstill photo of the altercation between Ms. XXXX and the suspect and distributed it to Officers.

Officers Ribeiro and Campers located Mr. Macinnes and Ms. Mclean at Broadway and Minnesota Av matching the digital image distributed. They did not provide receipts for the items the manager retrieved, which totaled $121.53 dollars. Mr. Macinnes was jumpy and nervous and reached numerous times inside his jacket pockets and pocket pants after he was asked not to. Mr. Macinnes was a pat frisked, which yielded a folding blade and items belonging to Stop and Shop with an estimated total value of $74.51 dollars. They were both placed under arrest. Ms. Mclean was carrying a personal bag. A search incident to arrest the personal bag yielded more merchandise from Stop & Shop, with an estimated total value of $67.78 dollars and a folding blade. All items were taken back to Stop and Shop, and a receipt of the stolen values was itemized. A digital photo of the receipts will be added to this report and submitted into evidence.

I will be filling criminal charges against Mr. Macinnes for;

-C. h. 266 /S.30A SHOPLIFTING BY CONCEALING MDSE.

-C. h. 265 S.13A ASSAULT & BATTERY.

-C. h.275 S.2 THREAT TO COMMIT CRIME.

I will be filing criminal charges against Ms. Mclean for;

-C. h. 266 /S.30A SHOPLIFTING BY CONCEALING MDSE.

Respectfully submitted;

Officer Jorge Morel
