The following is a brief summary of incident #24031237,

On May 29, 2024, I, Officer Sergio Garcia, was working my assigned shift 0800-1600 hours in the East District, East-1. At  1324 hours I was dispatched to the area of 165 Broadway (Cross St Center) for a report of an Assault . Officer O'Leary (East 2)  And Officer T.Lambert responded as back up.

Once on scene, I spoke to the victim Mr. XXXX who stated a party known to him attacked him with a knife. Mr. XXXX did not know the suspects legal name, did not have a description of the party, nor a description of the knife. Mr. XXXX was seen by Cataldo and denied medical treatment. Mr. XXXX had an open wound on his left chin. (Photos will be attached)

While speaking to Mr. XXXX the staff member of 165 Broadway, Ms. XXXX texted her boss to see if her boss knew the suspect with that name.

The boss stated the suspects name was Mr. Noe Hernandez. Mr. Hernandez is known to officers. Officers attempted to locate Mr. Hernandez but was unable to.

Ms.XXXX had a photo of Mr. Hernandez on her cell phone which she showed Mr. XXXX. Which he confirmed was the suspect who attacked him

Shortly after, the staff of Cross St Center called the Somerville Police Department stating they had Mr. Noe Hernandez in the lobby of the building. Officers were dispatched and arrived on scene but suspect fled east on Broadway on a purple bicycle. Officer Lambert then called and stated he had suspect at Broadway and Glen Street. After a short struggle the suspect was taken into custody. In his possession Officer Lambert found a screwdriver which is believed to have been the weapon.

The suspect placed under arrested and was transported to the station by unit #200 and booked by Lt Capasso. The screwdriver was tagged and placed into secure evidence locker.

Respectfully Submitted,

Officer Sergio Garcia #361
