Somerville Police Respond To Dispute, Make Arrest for Loaded Firearm

On 3/28/2021 at around 10:30 AM Somerville Polices responded to an address on Medford St for a dispute call.  There was information that one of the parties involved may have a weapon.  While investigating the incident officers observed a motor vehicle approach them at a high rate of speed.  This vehicle then crossed the double yellow lines and proceeded through a red light.  Sometime later the driver of this vehicle lost control and crashed into steps and a retaining wall on Pearl St.  The driver was arrested on 10 charges.  A loaded Smith and Wesson .40 caliber handgun was found in a recycling bin near the incident.  Its serial number had been obliterated.   Great work by officers getting a loaded gun off of the streets.
