Congratulations to Detective James McNally this month. He is celebrating 41 years of service to the City of Somerville. He was a community police officer and detective for most of his career. His work with teens, youth program workers and officers have had a lasting impact. Sergeant Michael Capasso credits his interest in joining the police department because of Detective McNally. Many years ago Det. McNally was Sgt. Capasso's school police officer in kindergarten. "When guys like Jimmy McNally are around - I often looked at him as a role model," said Sgt. Capasso. "It was good to have that type of person present, and that's what I want to do." Detective James McNally is now retired and is enjoying his time with his family and friends.
