In an effort to give back to our local community, and show support for the Somerville Homeless Coalition, Inc., the next (4) months are declared as No Shave, Winter of Giving. 

SHC's mission is to provide "homeless and near homeless individuals and families with individualized supportive services and tailored housing solutions with a goal of obtaining and maintaining affordable housing."

This will be our third consecutive year of participation in this fun and worthwhile event. This year the SPD will partner with the Somerville Homeless Coalition to raise funds for those in our community who are most in need. All participants must start with a clean shave on November 1st, 2018 and be back in compliance with department grooming regulations on March 1st, 2019. 

Any officer that commits a minimum $100 donation to the Somerville Homeless Coalition will be entitled to grow facial hair for the months of November 1st, 2018 to February 28th, 2019.
