    Governor Charlie Baker honored Massachusetts Somerville Detectives Kilsarys Leguisamon and Derrick Dottin. After an around-the-clock manhunt for fugitive James Morales in January, the escapee was captured in the Somerville/Cambridge area.

  • Somerville Police Respond to Assault

    21053597: On 10/11/21 at approximately 6:45 PM, Somerville Police responded to a business on Main St for report of a past shoplifting. While enroute, officers were informed that the suspect returned to store and attempted to slash an employee with a piece of glass. Upon arrival, officers spoke with two employees who stated a male suspect attempted to steal a bottle of wine then smashed it after being confronted. Shortly after, the male suspect returned, picked up a piece of glass and charged at an employee. Officers located the male suspect nearby.

  • Somerville Police Respond to Residential Breaking & Entering

    21053258: On 10/9/21 at approximately 5:30 PM, Somerville Police responded to a multifamily residence on Gilman St for report of a possible breaking and entering in progress. Upon arrival, officers observed three males exiting the residence and were able to detain two of them. Nothing was reported missing.

  • Somerville Police Respond to Commercial Breaking & Entering

    21050223: On 9/23/21 at approximately 12:00 AM, Somerville Police responded to a business in the area of Somerville Ave & Church St for report of an alarm going off. Upon arrival, officers spoke with an employee who stated he heard a noise at the front door and then observed two white males and one Asian male break through the locked door. When the male suspects saw the employee, they fled westbound on Somerville Ave.

  • Somerville Police Respond to Assault

    21049925: On 9/22/21 at approximately 2:50 PM, Somerville Police responded to the Capuano School for report of a juvenile male who shot an employee with a BB gun. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated while working on the soccer field, he was approached by a juvenile male. The victim and juvenile then engaged in a verbal argument that escalated to the juvenile striking the victim in the face then pulling out a BB gun and shooting him in the chest. The juvenile suspect then fled up Franklin St toward Broadway. The juvenile suspect was described as a dark-skinned Hispanic male, approx. 16 years old, with short hair, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.

  • Somerville Police Arrest

    21048691: On 9/16/21 at approximately 7:50 PM, Somerville Police responded to the area of 375 Revolution Dr. for report of two males fighting. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he was involved in an altercation with the male suspect in the parking lot. During the altercation, the male suspect chest-bumped him then threatened to stab him. Officers located the male suspect and he was placed under arrest.
