    23045530: On 8/12/23 at approximately 12:15 AM, Somerville Police responded to 265 Broadway for report of a past robbery. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated while walking home, he was approached by a male suspect who placed a knife against his neck and demanded money. The victim then smacked the knife away and the suspect fled the area. The suspect was described as a white male, early 20s, black beard and wearing a black shirt and blue jeans

    23042137: On 7/26/23 at approximately 3:14 PM, Somerville Police responded to Washington St after a male party reported that three males in a vehicle parked across the street were waiting to hurt him. Upon arrival, officers observed a white sedan flee the area after two males entered it. Officers spoke with the victim who stated three males pulled up in the vehicle and one of them displayed a firearm that was in his waistband. The victim then fled the area.

    Shots Fired

    23040389: On 7/19/23 at approximately 10:40 PM, Somerville Police responded to Howe St for report of two shots fired. Upon arrival, officers reviewed surveillance footage which showed a motorcycle, a pickup truck and a four-door sedan traveling at a high rate of speed. No ballistic evidence was recovered. Investigation is ongoing.

    DOOR-TO-DOOR SALES SCAM ALERT:  Please be advised that SPD received a report of a door-to-door magazine subscription scam that occurred in the area of Prichard Ave and Kidder Ave.  Residents are advised to be wary of all unsolicited offers and to research the company / service before providing any form of payment.  Residents are also advised not to share any personal or financial information nor let unknown salespersons into their homes.  Note that door-to-door solicitors are required by city ordinance to register with the Somerville Police Department’s Records Division and should have documentation of such.  You may confirm a solicitor’s registration by calling the SPD Records Division at 617-625-1600 x 7244.
